Minecraft is currently down for all users due to an unknown error.
The sandbox block game from Mojang is inaccessible with its first major widespread outage since the global Microsoft Azure cloud disruption in October 2025, which impacted Minecraft authentication and Xbox Live.
At around 8:30am in the UK on June 1, players began reporting problems launching the game to Downdetector.
The website shows a spike in the morning, with reports still filtering in around four hours later.
When users try and access the game via the Minecraft Launcher, they get the message: “Oh no!
“Something went wrong, and we couldn’t connect to the Minecraft services. Please connect to the internet to refresh your offline access.”
Another error message reads: “We were unable to verify what products you own. Please check your internet connection.”
Mojang is yet to officially comment on the issue, or a potential fix, while users trying to open the game from a third-party launcher like Curseforge or Prism are also facing problems.
It appears that the issue is with the hugely popular game’s authentication serves, which would stop people logging in.
Users could also experience issues with Realms, servers, and multiplayer online sessions.
In other Minecraft news, it was revealed in March that Kirsten Dunst has been cast in the upcoming, and as yet untitled, sequel to A Minecraft MOvie.
Last year’s blockbuster video game adaptation had a $163 million opening in the US, and hit almost $1 billion at the global box office.
As reported by Deadline, Dunst will play Alex, who is one of the main avatars players can select in the gaming franchise.
She will be part of an all-star cast, with the likes of Jack Black, Jason Momoa, Danielle Brooks, Matt Berry and Jennifer Coolidge all returning from the first film.
Plot details for the sequel are being kept close to the chest.
