UK businesses are reportedly spending £11.7 billion fixing AI slop mistakes every year.

According to a new report, 86 percent of leaders think dealing with AI complexity has increased their workload due to pressures of reviewing, revising and regenerating.

Freshworks has found that UK mid-market companies are now spending £11.7 billion each year on a so-called “complexity task”.

Furthermore, firms are losing an average of 25 percent of their AI budget to complexity overheads.

It’s said that the issue isn’t poor strategies, but instead attempts to place modern AI tools on top of older tech stacks.

Fresworks’ Chief Product Officer Srinivasan Raghavan said: “The companies that move from purchase to performance fastest will turn AI from a complexity tax into a competitive advantage.”

There are various solutions to the issue due to companies having complex tech stacks, and they are being urged to make sure they tackle data quality and fragmentation.
