The Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold is arriving on January 30, 2026 in the US for $2,899.

The handset is Samsung’s first commercial tri-fold smartphone, designed to blur the line between phone and tablet.

When fully unfolded, the device opens into a 10-inch display aimed at productivity, multitasking, and media consumption, while folding down into a pocketable form factor when closed.

At just 3.9mm at its thinnest point, Samsung has said it is the company’s most advanced foldable design to date.

Under the hood, the Z TriFold is powered by a customized Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform for Galaxy, paired with 512GB of storage as standard.

Samsung is positioning the device as an “Ultra-class” foldable, backed by a 200-megapixel main camera and what it describes as the largest battery ever fitted to a foldable phone, though exact capacity has not been disclosed.

Galaxy AI is central to the TriFold experience, as features like Photo Assist, Generative Edit, and Sketch to Image are optimised for the large display, while Gemini Live enables more natural, conversational interactions.

Samsung has claimed the device can understand what users see, say, and do in real time – allowing for contextual assistance across apps without constant switching.

Durability has been a key focus given the complexity of a dual-hinge design, as the Galaxy Z TriFold uses a titanium hinge system and reinforced display materials – with Samsung claiming the main screen has passed a 200,000-cycle multi-folding test.

Each unit also undergoes extensive quality checks, including CT scanning of internal components.

The Galaxy Z TriFold will be available in the US exclusively in a Crafted Black finish with 512GB of storage, sold through Samsung Experience Stores and samsung.com.
