Samsung has officially begun the stable rollout of One UI 8 for the Galaxy S25 series.

According to Samsung, devices including the Galaxy S24 series, Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6, and the Galaxy S24 FE will start receiving the update later this year.

One UI 8 – which is built on Android 16 – introduces intelligent multimodal AI features, personalized daily suggestions, and enhanced security tools.

The South Korean company describes the update as offering “personalization tools with top-tier security features, anticipating user needs while keeping information safe”.

Features such as Portrait Studio – capable of generating artistic pet portraits – Call Captions for converting speech to text during calls, and improved translation tools via an Interpreter keyboard are included.

Now that the S25 series has received OneUI 8, the Galaxy S24 models are expected to follow later in September or early October, while many Galaxy A-series phones and tablets will receive their updates in October and November.

Some regions, like Brazil, have more precise rollout week dates for tablets and mid-range phones.

Samsung warns that availability of specific functions may vary by model, country or carrier, and that some features require login to Samsung services.

The company expects the full roster of eligible devices to be upgraded before the end of 2025.

Between newer AI-powered capabilities, stronger security, and more customization, One UI 8 looks to be one of Samsung’s more substantial updates in recent years.
