Nothing has started rolling out native call recording support for its Phone (3), (3a) and (3a) Pro.
The feature arrives as part of the company’s latest update to Essential Space, its proprietary dialer, and is already available in select regions.
The new function adds a simple record button to the in-call interface, allowing users to begin or stop recording at any time -a move that brings Nothing’s software closer in line with offerings from Samsung, Xiaomi, and other Android manufacturers.
In a post on Nothing’s official community forum, the company said the feature is designed to give users “greater control and flexibility” while maintaining compliance with regional privacy laws.
Recordings are stored locally on the device and can be accessed through the dialer or the built-in Recorder app.
The feature rollout is currently limited, with some countries excluded due to local call recording regulations.
The feature is expected to expand globally in the coming months through an over-the-air (OTA) update tied to Nothing OS 3.5, though the company has not specified an exact timeline.
The addition of native call recording comes as Nothing continues to strengthen its in-house software ecosystem.
Earlier this year, the company introduced an improved Notes app, expanded widget support, and deeper integration with Nothing Chats, all part of its broader strategy to build a clean, user-focused Android experience.
Nothing also recently released the Open Beta for Nothing OS 4.0, which is available on the Phone (3), (2), (2a) and (2a) Plus.
Features introduced in the new software include an AI usage dashboard in Essential Space, improved quick assess controls and refined animations.
