ChatGPT users can now edit images with Photoshop inside the chatbot, after OpenAI rolled out a new integration that brings several Adobe tools directly into ChatGPT’s interface.
The update makes Photoshop, Adobe Express and Acrobat available as third-party apps that work entirely within ChatGPT – no separate login, download or window required.
The move continues OpenAI’s push to turn ChatGPT into a hub for digital services, following earlier integrations from Spotify, Zillow and Figma.
Inside ChatGPT, Photoshop offers a streamlined set of editing tools aimed at beginners.
Users can adjust brightness, contrast and vibrance, apply filters, and edit specific areas of an image – including background removal or blur.
More advanced features, such as Adobe’s signature Generative Fill, are not included.
Adobe has said the goal is to expose its software to ChatGPT’s 800 million weekly users while keeping the full suite available for those who jump into the standalone apps.
Adobe Express also arrives with templates for posters, social graphics and event invitations, plus quick animation tools.
Meanwhile, Acrobat integration allows users to extract text, convert files to PDF and handle basic document edits.
The apps are free to use inside ChatGPT, and Photoshop, Express and Acrobat integrations are live now on the web and iOS versions of ChatGPT.
While Android users get Express first, Photoshop and Acrobat will be coming later.
Adobe has confirmed it’s working with OpenAI to launch the apps in the UK and EU soon.
For Adobe, the partnership arrives as the company looks to reassure investors that its creative tools remain essential in an era defined by generative AI, and as it prepares to report fourth-quarter earnings.
