Google Photos is launching a new AI-generated “digital wardrobe” of your own clothes.

The tech giant has announced plans for a new featured being “slowly” rolled out which will allow the Google Photos app to “virtually mix and match outfits” to try and nail a perfect look.

In a post on the app’s support page, community manager Rebecca V said: “We’re excited to share that Google Photos is slowly rolling out a digital closet, built for you.

“Wardrobe automatically organizes your clothes from your photos.

“You can virtually mix and match outfits, try them on and save your perfect looks right from the Google Photos app.”

Initially, the feature will only be available on Android devices as it starts “rolling out in Brazil, India, and the US first to Google AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers”.

There are “plans to expand to iPhone and iPad in the future”.

Eligible users have to meet “the minimum age requirements for your country or region”, as well as being an “eligible user in a launched location”.

You have to turn on Face Groups and “select which face is yours”.

If you don’t have a subscription to Google AI Pro/Ultra, you need at least 1,000 photos of yourself to try the feature without one.

To use the feature, you can open the Google Photos app and tap collections, Wardrobe, and then Build my Wardrobe.

Google Photos can scan “photos of you from the last 4 years and [identify] items in your wardrobe”.

You’ll be able to view items separately, sort items by recently worn, and even filter by type of clothing.

An outfit can be made of up to six items, and given a name if you want.
