Elon Musk’s SpaceX was responsible for almost a fifth of all of Tesla’s Cybertruck sales in 2025.
The controversial vehicle launched in 2023 and despite a series of high-profile endorsements from well-known public figures, it has failed to truly capture the imagination of the American public.
Now, Bloomberg is reporting that of the 7,071 Cybertrucks registered in the fourth quarter of 2025, SpaceX was responsible for 1,279 of them.
The outlet based its reporting around registration data provided to S and P Global Mobility. The report observed that the SpaceX sales accounted for 18 percent of registrations during the quarter, with an extra 60 vehicles being acquired by other Musk-controlled businesses in that timeframe.
Last year, Tesla sales slid in Europe amid Elon’s involvement with Donald Trump’s US government.
Russ Mould, of the investment broker AJ Bell, said at the time: “Tesla sales continue to slump in Europe – halving in April according to the latest data. Given this came against a backdrop of a meaningful increase in European electric vehicle sales more broadly, it suggests the brand damage caused by Elon Musk’s political interventions may be lasting.
“The company may also be suffering from its lack of tyre print in the hybrid market with many motorists still wary of going fully electric.”
