Nothing has officially launched the Nothing OS 4.0 Open Beta, bringing a range of new features and performance upgrades to its smartphones.

The update is now available for Phone (3), Phone (2), Phone (2a), and Phone (2a) Plus, giving users early access to the company’s latest software ahead of a wider rollout.

For the flagship Phone (3), the beta introduces an AI usage dashboard in Essential Space, offering deeper insights into how artificial intelligence tools are being used across the device.

The update also delivers performance and stability improvements across core functions including the lock screen, always-on display, brightness controls, camera, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

Owners of the Phone (2), Phone (2a) and Phone (2a) Plus are also receiving noticeable upgrades, including refined animations, smoother transitions, and optimisations designed to make the interface feel more fluid.

Nothing says the update enhances reliability and battery efficiency, while improving connectivity across wireless features.

Nothing OS 4.0 also continues the company’s push toward AI integration.

Earlier this year, Nothing teased plans to bring AI-driven experiences into its software, and the usage dashboard in Essential Space is the first sign of that strategy in action.

As with previous beta releases, Nothing warns that users may encounter bugs and unfinished features.

The company is encouraging community feedback to help refine the experience before the stable version of OS 4.0 arrives later this year.

While the Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro are missing for now, Nothing has confirmed the two handsets will receive the 4.0 beta later this month.

Nothing has not yet confirmed the exact timeline for the full release, but with the beta now available across its core devices, the final rollout is expected in the coming months.
