Apple is rolling out iOS 26 to eligible iPhones today (09.15.25).
The Cupertino-based company is expected to release the new software for users with iPhone 11 and newer later today (09.15.25), with launches due at 10am PDT, 12pm CDT and 1pm EDT.
Meanwhile, users in the UK can expect the update to go live at 6pm BST, and Australian iPhone owners are due to receive the software at 1am AWST/3am AEST on Tuesday (09.16.25).
iOS 26 introduces a substantially refreshed design Apple calls Liquid Glass, bringing translucent effects to controls, navigation bars, search fields and app toolbars, which “reflects and refracts what’s beneath it in real time”.
Apple has said this material-inspired aesthetic creates greater visual unity across screens while dynamically adapting to light, motion and content.
Alongside the design overhaul, core new features under the expanded Apple Intelligence umbrella include Live Translation for text, audio and calls in apps such as Messages, FaceTime, and Phone.
Meanwhile, Visual Intelligence will let users find out more information about objects and places directly from the camera, and improved Call Screening and Hold Assist will come in handy for dealing with waits on customer support calls.
Other additions include smarter shortcuts, refinements to notifications, and tighter integration of Apple’s AI features across the operating system.
For iPhone owners with compatible devices, iOS 26 represents one of the most comprehensive updates in years – combining an ambitious redesign with intelligence-driven functionality that aims to make everyday interactions more seamless.
